The most popular option when renting a bike from us. An easy (and flat!) ride suitable for all levels of rider, this trail leads out to Pencarrow Head/Te Raeakiaki; with lakes and lighthouses to check out (click here) and stunning views of the Kaikōura Ranges.

Te Raeakiaki is the Māori name for Pencarrow Head and means: The headland where the sea pounds.

Note the trail can have sand and debris washed across it in some areas after heavy storms - it is usually still rideable, but off-road tyres are recommended for this reason.

To see your location on the below map and follow your progress in real time, simply click on the “four corners” icon on the top right of the header. This will open the map in Google Maps (provided you have the Google Maps app loaded onto your phone).
